EQ 7/24/17 (Venom)
ER 7/25/17 (Passed from Kristy Hunter--not a good fit.) Will try Janna with Venom again later next month.

That's interesting CraneHana.

EQ - 7/14/17 102K high fantasy w/ LGBTQI elements

(And then just found out Heather isn't taking material at the time. Deidre passed on an earlier version of this last year, so it's probably a 'no-go' now.)

ER - 7/17/17 form (at least it was fast).

Form. Rejection from a Kristy Hunter, seems that Jenniwood731 has it right and they share around the office.

A very kind rejection, addressed from Elaine who the query was shared with. Heather isn't taking material atm, but it does sound like they share around the office if they think anyone else will be interested.

@Shoeless

It was Deidre. Thanks for your encouragement. She sounded very nice, but you're right--we probably wouldn't have worked if she didn't love it. Hopefully my future perfect agent is still out there!

@karatemom

That's too bad, I've had that happen with a full request where I got a rejection in pretty short order. Sometimes with just a form rejection, no constructive criticism. It does happen, but it just means that you two weren't going to be a good fit. Just keep in mind that you got far enough that an agent wanted to see the entire manuscript, so it means your writing is definitely hitting a certain minimum standard of publishable quality, and that counts for a LOT. Was it Deidre or Heather that made comments?

My first full request! I feel validated!
I should mention I also got a request from Deirdre.
5/13 Rejection. Wow, that was fast. She said she went right to it because she liked my voice and the opening hook, but ultimately didn't connect with the characters as much as she was hoping to. She offered positive feedback. I'm kind of bummed--she sounds like a great agent.

Similar experience to Shoeless, below: I queried Heather, but it was Deirdre who requested the full.

Science fiction, 114K.

However, the request came from both Deidre Knight and Heather Tebbs. I was told that Heather is busy with new clients she just recently acquired, so they're both going over the novel then looking to see if they or anyone else in the agency would be a good fit if they decide to move forward.

ER: Nice form letter with invitation to sub other projects. (Less than 8 hrs. Love her speed!)
