Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

Leave comments about your experiences with this literary agent, or read what other authors have to say.

Re my last comment: judging by the QT forum, it looks like “submission history” most likely means to publishers, which makes sense.

Their website says to include “submission history” in your query. Does anyone know what, exactly, they’re wanting here? I could say that I sent out a batch of queries a few months ago and got some requests and that I’m sending out another batch and have one request so far, but that seems a bit general. Or do they mean submissions to publishers? Giving out the names of agents who have requested submissions feels a bit intrusive to me, but publishers I can understand. Thanks!

Update 10/19: With the five month mark now passing, I think their version of soon may be different than mine.

Somewhat personal e-ject from E. Griffin, in response to original query/request for full in March/April.

ER: 9/4 - A form rejection letter came in response to a check-in sent earlier in August. It was entirely unclear if they were sending a form query response to my check-in (referred to them not wanting to pursue my 'query', specifically) or if they were passing on the manuscript. I inquired, and it appears they were in fact responding to my manuscript. Also, the response came from Rachel Letofsky, not Sally Harding or their submissions assistant, Elizabeth.

EQ April 15 No response in over a month? Website states 12 weeks but responses are random. Do I keep waiting or is it an assumed rejection.

I'm curious why agents who, according to their agency website, only reply with requests sometimes send rejections according to the data here. What would make them send a rejection to some but largely ignore all the others they aren't interested in? Either way, as someone else said, she seems to reply quickly if she wants more.
