Referred to Erin from within the agency: 9/10/22
Queried: 11.28.22 (wasn't sure if I was supposed to make a separate query or not after the referral)
MG Muslim/Asian Fantasy 37k
R&R: 12.3.22 (sent 1.9.23, @41k)
Full Req: 1.28.23 (sent 1.29.23)

(She was super kind in asking to read my ms and she was on my list to query before I realized she closed to non-refs, so I feel like this is my chance!)

According to a tweet from 1/9/23: "I've re-opened my Query Mgr for 2023. Note that 1) I am not opening to picture book subs, b/c that side of my list is full; and 2) I don't take cold queries in order to manage the volume (see QM page for deets)--HOWEVER (exception/#MSWL/QM link in next tweet)... I am so hungry for immersive, beautifully written, non-European YA fantasy, and for cozy/slice-of-life SFF for MG/YA (prose or graphic novel), that for now I will allow queriers for these genres to bypass my usual requirements. #MSWL"

EQ: 9/9/18 (#PitMad req)
Nudge with offer: 9/26
Full request: 9/27

Erin didn't have a chance to read before my two-week stated deadline. She emailed to give me a status update two days after it'd passed to apologize and send her well wishes on the success of the manuscript. Note also: my initial query ended up in her Spam folder so she hadn't realized I'd sent anything in until I nudged with my full offer.

Erin took a year and a half to read my full, even after I met her at a conference and she loved my query letter! I liked her in person, though, and she certainly is a very successful agent. Her list is so full, I think she only takes on projects she really flips over.

Attended a conference that she spoke at, and was referred to her by an author there that I had a critique with.

EQ: 10/29/12
Partial request: 11/5/12
Helpful R: 11/6/12

74k words, speculative YA thriller. She said it wasn't really the type of story she enjoyed anyway, but she wanted to take a look just in case, and gave me some great feedback about the opening. Also said my writing was much stronger than the usual submission, so that softened the blow tremendously!

Was referred to Erin from Ammi-Joan Paquette, who saw my pitch in a contest. Received a full request from Erin on 6/1 :) She said her reading time on a full is about 4 months. Playing the waiting game!

Submitted on 4/16/11 per her invitation two years ago (once I graduated from Vermont College). Got an automatically generated reply she was out of the office until 4/25, haven't heard back yet.

Queried via her website on 2/3/10. (I had contact with her a few years ago through a referral from a published author. She doesn't take queries from people who have no previous connection.) Nudged her via same website on 2/22/10. Received a request for a first chapter the next day. Sent 3/4. Received nice rejection 3/11/10.

I, like srm_me, was contacted by the associate agent after she saw my query online in a contest and asked to submit a partial. Very exciting! Good to know that agents do take the time to read blogs and check out websites.

Was invited to query by her Associate Agent after she saw my free read on my website....so excited! Such an amazing house.
