Received the same rejection as ChickLitChick.

Received a rejection from her literary intern with nothing specific as to my manuscript. Suggested I check out the Writer’s Digest Guide to Literary Agents blog to search for newer agents.

Though my manuscript was not a fit for her, Jenn was genuinely kind and helpful to me. She took the time to offer me some new insight into the publishing world, tips on editors and some good and I think, much needed advise concerning where to go with my current publishing dilemma. I'd love to buy this woman a cup of coffee and talk about books. This is the kind of agent you want!

I received some valuable feed back that will really help moving forward. I'll definitely highlight her for my next book query.

Jen gives helpful advice even when she rejects you which is new and always welcomed. She responds to my emails and questions I ask. She wasn't interested in my book but she gave me the confidence to keep trying. Always a plus.

I highly recommend Jennifer. If you are looking for someone to nudge you in the right direction and show you ways to improve your writing, this is who you should query... she showed me the difference between 'telling' a story and 'showing' the readers what is going on in the scene; a great skill for any good writer to have. if you are reading this, Jennifer; I would like to thank you for your help, you are a gem!

ER 2/7/8 (Passed--good writing, not passionate and not good fit. She also mentioned about #MSWL, in which I've found her from, and said my query was adequate with an article on query tips. My query is fine and had gotten requests though.)

Long response back with suggestions for agent searching, query letter tips, etc. Said it was a great story, but didn't have the passion for it, same as some commentary listed below. Though I am sure it is somewhat of a form, I appreciate the information she sent along.

I highly recommend Jennifer Haskin. Searching for an agent is always difficult; not every MS will be a perfect fit for every agent. I had to look for months and go through many rejections before I came across Jenn. Since signing with her, she has been a hands-on agent, confidant, and excellent source for feedback. She helped me through my edits/rewrites until we were ready to pitch the book. Every stage of writing is a journey, and becoming traditionally published is the longest road of them all. If you are a writer searching for an agent, find one who is as passionate about your book as YOU are, then the rest will fall into place.

I'm suspicious of this agent because she is an author and she used to be with an agency called Metamorphosis Literary Agency, which didn't seem like a professional agency to me. They once requested a partial from me and then offered me representation, even though they hadn't even seen the whole manuscript! So I'd be wary of this one. Sounds like drm6484 had a bad experience with her too.

Not a good experience with this one. Query and MS were 'lost' after full request. When nudged, she said it was buried in a folder her interns had managed. Resubmitted query per her request, indicating she's already requested the full (wanted all her submissions in one place after switching agencies). Basically put at back of the line behind other submissions. Received form rejection with misspellings and recommendations of editors at 'decent' prices. No personalized feedback. Overall unsatisfactory experience.
