Queried 7/24 * MG adventure-thriller
Requested full (enthusiastically) a couple days later
* When I sent my full I told her I had a bunch of fulls out. She and I then emailed back and forth a couple times. It was clear she was responsive and also very interested in me and my writing from this interaction.
She contacted me 7/31 that she had read and wanted to talk. We set up a call.
8/7 offered rep after talking on phone for 2 hours.
* I had other offers by this point and calls lined up, so she told me to email or ask for call if any other questions. I emailed some questions a couple times and she responded quickly. We chatted again a day later. She answered more questions via email again. She also stressed that I should make sure I choose the agent who "fits" best.
8/12 accepted offer and I'm now repped by Lauren & LKG.

MG Fantasy 65K

I have been so impressed with Lauren in her communication and her R&R comments. Friendly, open, and gets straight to the point of what needs fixing but still kind and uplifting. She's agreed to a phone call to discuss her comments, and honestly, she has flown to the top of my agent list. Having recently broken up with one agent, I know how amazing it is to find an agent who's so responsive. Crossing fingers and gearing up for some hard work to hopefully convince her to offer.

This agency now has an online form, but the email option is still available as well. The form's through and basically wants your entire professional resume, although allowing you to skip fields. I went with the email option because I'm not an early adopter -- anyone have any experience with to share?

I've been in contact with Lauren Galit. Apparently Caitlen Rubino Bradway and she are both doing YA and MG now, in addition to nonfiction. They sort of split up queries as they come in. So even if you send a query to Caitlen, you might hear back from Lauren or vice versa.

Lauren is now my agent. :) I queried her in November of 2014 and accepted her offer in mid-January. I was previously agented by a larger agency and am thrilled to find someone who seems like such good fit - she is personable, tenacious, and a wonderful editor (and a Harvard grad). I look forward to a long relationship!

Oh yes, and I'm a MG writer - the agency recently opened up to writers of this genre.
