Rejected 8/31/22 "I’m sorry your book isn’t a fit for me. I don’t handle stories of this nature, but many agents do. You just have to find them. Have you tried looking on Publishers Marketplace?"

A quite rude and terse rejection after a cordial discussion regarding a previous novel, which I ended up selling on my own.

If you click on Ms. Svetcov's Genres, it says no nonfiction. I happened to read her agency listing and that's just not true. It makes me wonder how many agents I've passed up because their Genres were listed as fiction only, and my book is nonfiction. Anyway I'm sending her a nonfiction query.

Adult fiction, the same sort-of rejection, which I suspect is her standard polite NO, aka Dad says "Ask your mother":

[Author], Great pitch, but I’m not handling much new material right now, and I think your book may appeal to one of my colleagues. I’ve forwarded it to the team. If you don’t hear back in ten days, assume the agency has passed. D

(Alas, I've already pitched it to one of them who passed... I hope it doesn't look too stale.)

Responded on the same day. Not for her, but shared with her colleagues. One has to appreciate the speed of response considering how swamped agents are and one has to appreciate the fact that she passed on to the rest of the agency.
In these depressing covid-19 days, one kind answer is enough-- whether or not it comes to fruition! A+

Kind, complimentary rejection, but says she does not rep much fiction, so it's hard to win her over. (Historical novel)
