She requested 50 pages during #DVPit last year (10/2018) and after 3 nudges throughout the year and a reply from her (in December 2018) that she was looking forward to reading, I've heard nothing else. Closing this one out. A bit frustrated.

@Rose_Hill, and anyone else who's curious -- you can find her SFF fiction query guidelines at her website: http://www.darakaye.com/contact.html
Instead of sending fiction for her directly to the agency, you send to her email that's listed there. But send non-fiction to the agency. Also, I recently queried her and received an automatic reply that she's out on maternity leave until the end of November, fyi.

I know she is looking for fiction, but I could only find guidelines on the agency website for non-fiction, so I was not 100% certain of the guidelines. I'll update here if I get any feedback.

An unusually thoughtful rejection letter:

I hope this email finds you well. Dara asked me to reach out to you. Thank you so much for submitting "How to Be a Pyrrhonist" to Ross Yoon Agency. This is a promising project - you've done a great job of taking a concept that would be considered foreign and quite complicated to most and making it accessible in a way that does not come off as condescending or pandering - but I'm so sorry to say that it's not a match for any of the agents on our team. We wish you the very best of luck in your search for an agent and worthy book deal.

Yours,

Cara Jackson

A few hours later, I actually got a confirmation of receipt reply from Dara about just my query and sample material, which was a really pleasant surprise!

Very nice rejection from her assistant. So nice, in fact, that I didn't know it was a rejection until sentence three. But I'll take the kind words! :)

Not only FAST but she gave me really specific and encouraging feedback with editing suggestions! 11/10 would query again.

On her Twitter on August 1st she posted "Hi! I get this Q a lot, so-- @RossYoon is a nonfiction agency, but I'm expanding my list to include nonfiction + SFF".

I commented on one of her #mswl tweets about taking on fantasy to see if that included YA and she didn’t reply. So I think the answer is no YA?
