Nudge with revised MS attached. 8/10/19
CNR: 9/21/2018 Normally I would wait longer, but since she is closed to queries and only gets a few from conferences, I'm assuming it's a no.
(As per conference instructions, sent via email instead of normal online form. Included short synopsis and full manuscript. Website instructions say "DOC or PDF" for manuscript, so I saved as a MS Word .doc file, not the normal .docx file.)
Sidenote: Tracey was wonderful to listen to at the conference. Not only does she seem knowledgeable, she was very nice. Her clients are lucky. :)
(Thanks PoeticLotion)
2/23/17: ER from Lori Oberweger, with a long vague list of common reasons why she might have passed (not very helpful).
Kicking myself because I forgot to include the synopsis!
YA Contemporary with paranormal elements 86K
ER - 2/3 - I queried Tracy but got a response from Lorin. At first glance seemed like concise feedback with several points regarding the manuscript. But upon further review I realized that it might just be a more thorough form rejection. She used very broad terms and vague reasons for passing, and didn't mention my name or any of the characters. Wait, as I write this, I see that she begins with "I can, however, offer the most common issues I’m seeing in submissions", which cements the fact that it was a form. I really appreciate her taking the time to respond, but offering the most common issues she's seeing other people's work doesn't really help despite her good intentions. It only confuses you more because you have zero idea which one of these things she listed applies to your manuscript specifically. I would have appreciated it more if she'd just say it wasn't right for her. All and all though, I appreciate that she responded. Many agents nowadays just leave you hanging.
(Thanks GingerGrouse)
