Hi All, It's Anne. No hidden fees. Zip. Nada. Zilch. Response times really depends on the individual agent/time of year/how many clients on submission. It's truly our best guess. Patience is appreciated. We get literally hundreds of queries A WEEK. EACH. I'll have the website fix my last name. For the record, it's Tibbets with an S but I'm not going to reject anything solely based on whether or not you include the S. That's silly. Not bothered by getting notification of other offer of rep, no matter when. Emails get tossed to spam all the time. I'd rather have some notice than none! It's all good. We don't give out personal addresses online because A) it's email submissions only so what do you need my address for? and B) we value our privacy. I have kids, husband - please don't show up at my front door or send me creepy packages. If I sign you then yes, you can have my snail mail if you want, and C) yes, most of us are remote. EDITED TO ADD: Yes, you can query more than one agent at Red Sofa. Just not at the same time.

@LonWheels: I'm represented by Red Sofa and can confirm there are no secret fees. I believe the message on the site is just a statement of principle. As for address/phone, I believe most if not all the agents work remotely, so it's understandable they wouldn't give out their personal contact info.

URGENT NOTE: Red Sofa has her last name spelled 2 different ways: "Tibbets" on the main page with her bio, but "Tibbet" (in the singular possessive) on their submissions page! I just queried with the wrong spelling as I was, naturally, on their submissions page when setting up my query. (Patrick - you have right in your listing: Tibbets.)

In addition: Agency IS NOT transparent: withholds address & phone no. and dodges writers' questions if another of their agents can be queried. Respond in 2-3 MONTHS for only a query, no ms pages sent. About half their people are temporarily closed to submissions. They make a big statement about not charging a reading fee (which is normal), so one wonders if they charge other fees. Previously, in Jeff Herman's 2017 guide (latest edition), they stated their response time was usually 6-8 weeks if it’s Fall/Spring/Winter.
