Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

Query Guidelines

Put "Query" in the subject line of your email. For queries regarding children's and adult fiction, please send the first twenty pages in the body of your email, along with a one-paragraph bio and a one-paragraph synopsis. For queries regarding a non-fiction book, please attach the entire proposal as a Word document (the proposal should include a sample chapter), along with a one-paragraph bio and a one-paragraph synopsis of your book in the body of your email.

Leave comments about your experiences with this literary agent, or read what other authors have to say.

Good. She didn't have the stomach for being an agent.

LinkedIn profile shows that Ms. Bartow is no longer working as an agent but as a web administrator at Forbes Office Furniture.

WhatAWriter, I think you're right. She was new, and was listed on their website only a few months ago. But it looks like she didn't last long.

Patrick: This agent is not listed anywhere on the agency's Web site, so I'm not going to query until I know more.

@Mittens: No, I think that's a recent change. Because Patrick fixed the spelling of her name based on the website. I know there are a couple of QTers who signed with her. Anyone?

Has anyone else noticed that Ms. Bartow is conspicuously absent from the jdlit website? Is that a recent change? Does she still work there? I have a query out to her, but there are other agents there who I'd consider querying, if only I knew for sure.

You also have to remember she never told any of us that she received our full manuscripts. We had to ask her. So this shows she's very green.

I feel your pain rjerome...

And gusmom you could be right, she seems to be in a bad mood. Is she giving anyone a chance?

Good heavens! What an orgy of rejections! Maybe she's quitting or had a fight with her boyfriend or something.

My Question... How can she ask for a partial, then ask for a full, and then reject without saying anything. Give me a 2 sentence reason, some advice.
