Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

Leave comments about your experiences with this literary agent, or read what other authors have to say.

According to company website, Raphael and company still represent fiction.

"Please note that we specialize in quality non-fiction and mainstream fiction. We do not represent authors in a number of categories, e.g. romance, westerns and science fiction, and we do not represent poetry, children's books, or screenplays."

Very Nice, short, encouraging turn-down, by 9am the morning I queried him.

Not for us, thanks. Try others. Good luck.

As many queries as he receives, I was pleased he goes through them every day. Of course I'm disappointed.

I queried Sagalyn about ten years ago with my second thriller. The query had barely gotten to his inbox when I received a curt rejection. Fast-forward to today: 81 minutes after querying him with my fourth thriller, I get: "we'll pass, thanks, good luck." I don't consider this rude. Just to get any answer from agents these days is remarkable. This guy's on top of his emails. But, unless you're a celebrity DC Beltway insider, give him a pass.

eallen99: Sorry for that. Have had the same experience with him as well. Keep plugging. It's a hard slog, I know.
