Thank you so much for thinking of Nelson Literary Agency for your query. I wish we could offer a more personalized response but on average, we receive 500+ email query letters a week. Do know that every query letter and sample are read and even though your project is not right for us, it might be right for another agent so don’t give up! I’m also sorry I have no agent recommendations to offer.

Good luck with all your publishing endeavors.

@saladspinner, the agency has a much formier form that they use if you didn't get past the assistants--I think it's here in the comments someplace. You definitely caught someone's attention! :)

Saladspinner, that sounds like a "Form With A Tick!" So it might have passed an assistant to another level, which means someone in the chain liked it...

ER - 1/13/18 "Thank you so much for your patience. I had a chance to take a look at your query letter and sample pages. I know it’s not much fun to receive a rejection but despite a strong concept and solid writing, (my title redacted) isn’t right for me. Persevere as another agent might be intrigued enough to ask for the manuscript, and I’m sorry I can’t offer a referral. Stay tough out there. Keep writing!"

That sounded personal, right? I should be encouraged, right?!
