Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

Leave comments about your experiences with this literary agent, or read what other authors have to say.

mshutzer, haha! Have you read any of the manuscripts? Have you and your roommates thought about becoming agents on the side? Maybe the universe is trying to tell you something...

Please note ---- Ricia Mainhardt's agency does not function at 612 Argyle Road Apt. 5L. I live in this apartment and have been receiving mail for the agency for the last year. DO NOT SEND MANUSCRIPTS TO THIS ADDRESS. The mail my roommates and I have received have been left for the post office to return, however, they have arrived in such bulk, that frequently they are not picked back up. Again, Ricia Mainhardt's agency, regardless of its activity elsewhere, does not have an active mailing address at 612 Argyle Road. I do not know her present mailing address nor am I acquainted with any details of the agency.

She is still accepting queries. I spoke with her very recently.

Thanks AZSkelly.

I looked at the comments and they all seem to stop around May 2012. I had talked to her on the phone in September.

Does anyone know if Ricia has retired. I had some dealings with her last year. She asked for my full manuscript in February, but I never heard back from her. I called her in September, but she hadn't read it. Now I see on the internet that she's moved to Conn. and the RMA website seems woefully out of date, referring to Ricia returning to work in 2008 and listing someone I don't think is still a literary agent as her West Coast rep. I see Ricia is still listed as an agent in some 2013 guides, but I'm wondering if there is any way to check on this.

Thanks Popgun. I won't. I'll try requerying her again and again this year. We'll see.

I'm pretty sure she rejected my first book two years ago. I think that one got rejected by about 85 agents and a dozen publishers before I finally found a small press that loved it. I've gotten several full MS requests for this latest one, though. I would consider Ricia to be a great catch - she has an impressive resume. Don't give up!

Lucky you Popgun2. She gave me a NR to both of my queries last year. Still no word from my requery either. Good luck!

Sent an e-mail query with a synopsis and 30 pages (12/29/11) got a full request two hours later for a dark fantasy/action/thriller. Her background and connections in the industry are impressive. She obviously reads quickly, too. I should add that I had a referral from one of her authors.

Hi PaigeAC. I know this is really late! BUT, I know she reps Richard Lee Byers, and as to the mix up of emails, don't worry, a publisher did that to me! I got an email on a query stating they loved my book (by title) and wanted to offer a contract. The very next email above it was them apologizing and asking for a full mss. Suffice to say, I passed on that publisher.
