Per website, dated January 2012:

"Here's the good news: Strachan Literary Agency is now accepting queries, but will be taking on new projects very, very selectively. We are most interested in high-end literary fiction and strong, compelling narrative nonfiction from authors with solid platforms. Here's the bad news: We have moved to a new computer and have had to make a clean break. With a few limited exceptions, queries and material submitted prior to 2012 were not transferred and are no longer under consideration."

On 2/16, I queried her. Today I've heard back on my nudge. She said, that if I checked her website, they're not accepting new submissions. Nor she would take on an eco-thriller either. She did mention that my 2-week nudge deadline was presumptious, since they're overworked and understaffed. She's the first agent to say that to me. I normally get a response or not.

On 8.12, I've sent her a requery for Chain Reaction. On 12/12, I didn't hear from her and nudged her. No word today. Will try her next year.

Rejection from young adult novel:

Dear Ms. Fender,

Thanks so much for your query. Unfortunately, this is not something that I can take on at this time. I'm going to pass, but I do appreciate having the opportunity to consider your work and wish you every success with it.

Best,

Laura Strachan

e-query: 5/16; request for partial 6/13. She said she's working through a backlog so could take a while.
