Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

Leave comments about your experiences with this literary agent, or read what other authors have to say.

Yep, I'm in the "we no longer accept sumissions" club..When I noticed the handwriting, I immediately thought it was good news for some reason...You know, a handwritten note saying "I hope you haven't signed yet" LOL

On 4/21/2011, I've sent her a query. Today I've heard back from her: "We are no longer accepting new submissions." She wrote it on my query.

Yea AQ and PM contradict each other, but considering its snail mail vs email, I wouldn't bother hitting her up.

Rejection 12/11, saying "We no longer accept submissions." The weird thing is that I read somewhere that Stephanie was actively trying to build client list. So whatever. Moving on.

On the agency's PM page it says "We no longer accept submissions" at the bottom of the page.

"Sorry, it's not for us." Written on my query for women's fiction.

Found this on a list of agents accepting women's lit:

Stephanie is looking for chicklit and momlit, young adult, literary fiction, thrillers, mysteries and narrative nonfiction. Query with a bio, 1-3 page synopsis, first three chapters and SASE.

Received the same standard rejection "Sorry, not for us" on the top of my query letter. I would have been okay with that, as I've received similar rejections before, but the fact that it was written barely legible handwriting made it a very unprofessional.

I only received my own query letter back with the hand written "Sorry it's not for us. --SL 4/26/10".

I had the same Full request, Full reject handwritten "not for us" from Ellen Twaddell 2-26-10. Not very helpful.
