Requested my full manuscript on 2/29/20. I sent it and never heard back from her. Followed up twice. Still no response over 10 months.

If you plan to email your query to her, note that Publisher's Marketplace has an old email address. Poets & Writers has the correct address: lbankoff@icmpartners.com.

Poets and Writers states she does take email queries, so I've given it a try. I will let you know how it goes. I've already gotten an automatic office reply re: her holiday absence. That's a good sign.

Received receipt confirmation 10/15/15; if no response in six weeks, assume "no."
"from: Lisa Bankoff
Thank you for your recent query.
First, I want to apologize for this uniform response. I have a very small staff here and we’ve been overwhelmed by the number of queries. Our goal is to give everything careful consideration, and to send a note like this one, so that you know we’ve received your correspondence.
If your manuscript seems right for me or if I need more information to assess the material more fully, someone will be in touch with you.
If you don’t hear anything within six weeks from the date you receive this letter, you should assume I’m not going to pursue representation.
Please know that I really do read all letters carefully, but it’s just not possible to respond individually.
Again, thank you for allowing me an opportunity to become familiar with your work.

She responded to my query the same day, and requested the full proposal and manuscript. However, she offered on an agent agreement that had no provision for termination. When I insisted on some kind of assurance that I could break off the agreement, she dropped me immediately.

Lisa Bankoff does accept queries by email. She is also more likely to look at Exclusive Submissions first.

Just wanted everyone to know her mailing address is NOT 825 Eighth Ave.... which Agent Query (and somewhere else, I forget) point to. Just got my SQ returned from the post office with "Vacant : Unable to Forward" attached. I see the Fifth Ave address. Re-sending there tomorrow:) How could I have missed that?!

That automated e-mail reply is as pleasant and professional as they get, especially with the clear 6-week window for expression of interest. Maybe not everyone likes it, but I wish more agents did this so that at least we aren't left "hanging" when there's no reply at all to the query.
