120 day personal rejection--maybe the sweetest note I've ever received from an agent! I'm definitely querying her again.
Dear AUTHOR,
Thanks for your query and thanks for your patience while I considered. I'm sorry it's taken such a long time for me to get back to you, and I'm afraid to be writing with the bad news that I don't think NOVEL TITLE is quite a fit for my list.
I loved the voice on the page in this sample—I read the entire 50 pages, which is rare for me, and I found myself rooting for MAIN CHARACTER in all his precocious haplessness. At the same time, I have some hesitations about the plot and pacing, and what that might mean for positioning the novel with publishers, so I'll step aside, wishing you many long and fruitful years of writing, and all the best as you continue your agent search.
Thanks again for sharing you work with me, and take care,
Maggie
