Thank you @winterwren and @katefables. That makes sense. And yes, she's a dream agent!

@ScribbleM, I wouldn't consider it a CNR. I hadn't heard for 67 days and she's a dream agent of mine, so I nudged and she said it was still under consideration and requested the full. I may have already messed up, because I said it was being reviewed by brilliant editors, and apparently literary agents never want to hear that ... according to a friend's advice. But you live and learn. No news may be good news in your case.

@ScribbleM, I don't always consider it a CNR. Many agents say that they jump around their inbox, searching first for all the queries in a particular genre, for example. Others work through the queries in order but don't reply right away to ones they intend to come back to. I also have the impression that some agents don't reject "maybes" and only respond once you nudge them with an offer. Sometimes you can tell from the Query Timeline what kind of approach an agent is using, but a lot of the time it's just a mystery lol. If you want to query someone else at the agency I'd at least wait till the reply time stated on their website has passed, no matter what their "average" reply time is. It seems like many agents are taking a long time. I've had two recent rejections that each came more than a month after their posted reply time, long after I'd CNR'd them. And I often see requests for fulls in the Query Timelines that happened after the posted reply time. Best of luck!

How do you guys interpret the timelines? (In general...not necessarily just for this agent) If your query is not rejected but others around you are, but then there are requests for pages after your query do you consider it a CNR?
