Got the same rejection letter as rosanna_queries in the same 24 hour time frame (2nd to the 3rd). Thought it was a customized rejection until reading the message that rosanna_queries posted, and wanted to share this fact with others. I appreciate the fast response time, but would have loved a more personal response.

Submitted my query with the first 20 pages today, 8/17/22, and received a kind and encouraging rejection letter the same day. I appreciate so much this agent's willingness to encourage and give welcomed feedback. She clearly recognizes the heart and soul we've each put into our work and only wants to help. From what I understand, that's pretty amazing in this business. I mean, if I had to get a rejection, I couldn't have received a nicer one. Now I know that if I continue getting rejections, I know where to start in making my story and writing better. Those who get Ms. Nichols as an agent are lucky. I thank her for not destroying my confidence right out of the gate!
