"Thank you very much for your query for __________, which I was grateful for the chance to review. Unfortunately, I don't feel that I'm the best fit for this project at this time. I wish you the very best of luck in finding the right home for this work and thank you, once again, for giving me the opportunity to consider it."

@jsppp87 For those who don't filter their inboxes by genre or other features, or skip around randomly, I bet that it has something to do with the way that queries are displayed on the backend. I would guess that they're shown in a paged view, and if the agent sees "OK, top of page 4 is where the queries I've already answered start, so I just need to answer pages 1-3" any queries that are at the bottom of page 4 are likely to get skipped.

This is total speculation on my part-- I have no idea what the Query Manager backend looks like haha. But from my own experience with dealing with "inboxes of stuff" this is the kind of thing that super easily happens. Even if you have ways to sort by oldest-unanswered-- things stack up, slip through the cracks, etc.

Does anyone have any insight into why agents skip large batches of queries and sometimes never come back to them? Genuinely curious after watching many query timelines, and would love to know what happens in those cases
