Hi @jonpeters1976 you're totally right. UK agents often refer to a query letter as a cover letter. It typically goes in the body of the email and you share the synopsis and sample pages as attachments. However, do check guidelines carefully as sometimes agents will tell you specifically what info they would like to see in the query/cover letter :)

States "Send your cover letter..."
What is the cover letter? Is that an author bio? I've never seen anyone ask that but I'm also pretty new to this process. Is that the query letter itself? She states to also send synopsis and first three chapters, so I'm thinking the cover letter must be the query. Hopefully someone out there can assist me. Thank you!
