"Thank you for sending your manuscript, XX, to me. I appreciated the opportunity to consider it, but I'm sorry that I will have to pass on this. While I found the premise of your novel very interesting, I wasn't as captivated as I needed to be at the line level. I'm sure another agent will feel differently, and I hope this manuscript finds its way to someone who is ready to more passionately advocate for it soon. All the best with your future queries!

Sent: 11/3/25 (delay on my end- I’m new to querying and she asked for a synopsis, so I needed to get that together)

Thank you for sending your manuscript, XYZ, to me.

I have no idea how much she read, but I think this is a form rejection. Much appreciated if anyone can confirm. Disappointed, as I hoped this would at least lead to an R&R or some more specific feedback. She seems like the consummate professional- very clear with her timelines, kind responses, and is killing it with deals in different genres on PM.

I also almost didn’t query her because her website seemed too literary and I haven’t read a single book on her MSWL favorites. But this was a lesson to just go for it because you never know!

YA contemporary, same rejection as other people.
While it's a bummer, I far prefer quick (if impersonal) rejection over CNR.
