Set your expectations: 24hr rejection from the assistant or intern. The response was addressed to the wrong name and stated this agent doesn't take the genre I submitted, despite that genre being clearly listed in multiple sources -- including the agency's own social media directly quoting her desire for it. I'd call this response a mistake, except I see a pattern of similar responses below. Regardless, mistakes do happen. Moving on....
