Submitted: Dec 28
Rejection: Feb 20

It was a standard rejection format. Unfortunately, I imagine it is quite difficult to find the time to personalize each one.

"Thank you for the opportunity to read your work. While there is so much potential here, I'm afraid it isn't the right fit for my list at this time. Don't be discouraged, your work has great merit and will hopefully find a home soon! Wishing you the best of luck moving forward and I do hope you will consider me should you find yourself querying in the future.

best wishes

As always, I know this could turn into a rejection, but I'm excited regardless!

Update: form rejection on the full request after 112 days (3/09/2026)

I know agents are busy and don't have time to add personalization on queries, but I really wish there'd be some kind of comment on why they didn't enjoy the full manuscript. I received the same response as others:

"While there is so much potential here, I'm afraid I didn't connect with it in the way I had hoped. Don't be discouraged, your work has great merit and will hopefully find a home soon! Wishing you the best of luck moving forward and I do hope you will consider me should you find yourself querying in the future."
