I last spoke to Steve in August - he is in ill health and not responding to queries at this time. He runs a writing class, however I am unsure if it will be running moving forwards. I hope this is helpful.

Queried 102,500 word comic fantasy w/ synopsis and 1st 50 pp. by email. However: please note: according to Query Tracker.com, WriterServices.com, and JericoWriters.com, he accepts queries solely by email, but requires an SAE (??). But FirstWriter.com, states that he only accepts them by mail. There is no mention that I could find whether or not he will accept attachments or in what format.
If I do hear back, I will update.

It appears this is a very small shop. With Steve as its sole agent, he is perhaps understandably disinterested in competing with bigger frogs and their bells and whistles, owing chiefly to a narrow group of genres that Steve is interested in.

I did find this comment from Jerico Writers (https://jerichowriters.com/agentmatch/literary-agent/steve-calcutt/):

"Steve and his agency, the Anubis Literary Agency, have little to no online presence at all. The agency does not have a website, nor does Steve use any social media. Other than a very brief mention in the standard industry records regarding literary agents, the only snippet of information we could glean is that he represents science fiction writer Adam Roberts. Roberts is well-known in the genre and excellent recommendation for an agent that is otherwise an enigma.
"The Anubis Literary Agency has only Steve as an agent and is solely focused science fiction, horror, and fantasy. Do not bother sending any other work Steve's way, he is simply not interested. Much like his non-existent online presence, Steve appears to be quite old fashioned. He does not accept emailed manuscripts. Instead, you will need to to send him the first fifty pages of your work, along with a one-page synopsis, in hard copy."

Actually, I find his low-tech approach rather refreshing. The strictly snail-mail requirement, though, is a bit of a deal breaker, mailing from the US to the UK.

For contact info and submission guidelines, I found the following on https://www.writersservices.com/reference/anubis-literary-agency:

I queried this agent a couple of years ago and heard nothing back.

There have been no replies registered since, so I suspect the agency might have been set up on a whim, or to legitimise a small group of writers querying publishers. This isn't entirely "not cricket" but certainly not solid.

According to agenthunter, accepts only snail-mail submissions, has no online presence or functioning email. Is the sole agent in his agency, representing nothing but horror, sci-fi and fantasy. Requires 50 first pages and synopsis sent in hard copy. No address present. Represents sci-fi writer Adam Roberts.

Apparently, so far his agency was pushed forward solely by enigmatic image.

Anyone have a functioning email for this agent? Thanks.

I sent query letter and 3 chapters to this man a couple of years ago. Got my MS back after about a week, with an almost illegible scrawl at the top of my original letter, which I almost missed at first. After close scrutiny with the help of a magnifying glass, I managed to work out that someone had written 'not for me'. No signature, nothing else.

It was quick but I have to say I wasn't impressed by the lack of basic social skills....

oh great!....I am in Canada and to send a SASE for an agency in the US, I had to have a fiend, who was going to Vegas bring back stamp...You can not buy US stamps in Canada....My question is this, How do I talk someone into going to the UK to buy me stamps....lol

UK Literary says they only accept science fiction, fantasy and horror, so QT's genre entries need updating (?)

It is now June. I will check to see if the posted email addy comes back as undeliverable or not, since this appears to be at issue.
