A very pleasant rejection with some token feedback:

'Hello Callum,

First of all, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to review your work ... I so enjoyed the pacing and ___'s characterization. Unfortunately, I didn't find myself connecting strongly with the writing in the sample, so I had a hard time staying as involved as I needed to be as an agent. However, other agents are likely to feel differently than I do.

While this is not the news you hoped for, as I'm sure you know, writers sometimes endure long periods of rejection before they find the winning combination for themselves. They refused to give up, and it is my sincerest hope that you do not give up either.

All the best,

Mara
