Hi Elizabeth,
Sorry, for getting your name wrong. I was texting with a tenant and had her on my mind.
Thanks for the insight.
After I sent you the comment, I started sifting through the bits and pieces of book two. I should have kept writing back then because I was hot, on fire. But then, I got discourage and stopped. I focused on perfecting book one. At least I know the beginning and the end of book two, it's just the middle that's a bit vague at the moment. And I agree, the rejections are starting to wear on me as well. Maybe it is time to step back, get out of technical mode and get back to a creative space where I have control on the outcome. :-)
And to anyone reading this . . . I just used their new program, qtCritique, where you can hire an agent or editor to review your query. It was quite helpful. I completely reworked the query and feel the manuscript description is clearer and hopefully enticing. Only time will tell.
The best to you all.

Hi Elizabeth,
That's fantastic! Much luck to you. I hope she offers you representation. From what I've read, she's a great agent.
I have my fingers crossed that she'll want to read my full manuscript. I think she's a great fit for me as well.
I started and stopped writing my second book in the series, because at a conference I attended the key note author said why bother, if you can't sell the first one. Is your second manuscript part of a series?

I wrote the second book earlier in 2025 while I was waiting for responses on book 1 from literary agents. The second one is a spinoff, and a standalone. Since then, I have also written a sequel of the original series, and a prequel to that series. Now I have a backlog in the event that I end up self publishing. I am so, so grateful for that backlog now. So I don’t necessarily agree with not writing sequels. In fact, right now, I am working on book 3 of the series so I will have a complete trilogy by summer. It’s made query rejections hurt a lot less!

I know she stated her plate was full but I’m hoping for a shot at it.
