@FionaB1 Bethany is both genuine and kind. I’ve had two full rejections from her that were unique from each other and specific to the story - I don’t think it is a form! Sounds like you have a lovely story that will find the right agent soon.

"Thank you so much for sharing TITLE with me, and I truly appreciate your patience. Your prose is so richly-written, which brings such fantastic emotional immediacy to these pages. But while you are clearly very talented, I'm going to respectfully step aside. I'm afraid I just didn't get that "must-be-mine" feeling I need in order to break a book out in a saturated market. This isn't a reflection of this novel's many strengths; rather, I'm simply not the right editorial match.
I'm sorry I don't come with better news. I wish you the very best.
