95k YA fantasy
A very kind, personalized reply:
Thank you for submitting the sample for your YA fantasy, XXX, which I’ve now had the chance to review. I appreciate your patience and the opportunity to consider your work.
The writing and voice are strong! Unfortunately, I just didn’t connect with the story as much as I’d wanted to. As a result, I don’t think I’m the right fit for this manuscript and cannot be the advocate your work deserves.
I know this isn't the answer you were looking for, but keep in mind this is a subjective industry and someone else may feel differently. Thank you for thinking of us in connection with your work, and we wish you the best of luck.
