"For this genre, the word count is too high and so I must pass"
Respectfully, I must express my strong disappointment with this response, which appears clearly rushed. It seems the sole deciding factor was the word count—a detail that, as many agents know, can be discussed and adjusted if there is a genuine interest in the project. Instead, my novel was dismissed and categorized as straightforward sci-fi (in the vein of cyberpunk or space opera) without a careful reading to understand that it is, in fact, a cross-genre work (dystopian, sci-fi, sports, and spiritual elements). It’s evident that Ms. Christine was overwhelmed with work and found it convenient to reject my submission based on an objective, yet ultimately superficial, criterion. On paper, it may appear justifiable—but in substance, it is deeply unsatisfactory.

Thank you so much for submitting X to me. While there is a lot I admire here and it does touch on a few points from my MSWL, I don't think I will be the best champion for this novel. This is subjective to me and not a reflection of your work. I'm sorry I don't have better news!
