Before contacting an agent, authors should verify and assess the agent's requirements and suitability by visiting the agent's website(s), and becoming familiar with ways to spot and avoid bad agents. A good place to start is Writers Beware, a watch group that helps inform and protect authors from shady practices.
the agent has only received 136 queries in her inbox over all time (reported on QT), but she probably had far less when I queried her at the beginning of the year--either way, it's far less than many other agents usually have at any given moment--so I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't even get a form rejection
I'm generally not a fan of a 'a no from one of us (non-response in this case) is a no from all of us' agencies, and I will not be querying this agency again with future projects because I can't even be certain my email was actually read!
