Dear Meg,

I so appreciate your patience while I reviewed CARIAD. Unfortunately, while there was a lot to love here, this wasn't a 100% fit for me. This was entirely a matter of personal taste and no reflection on your talent or your manuscript! I know this will sound frustratingly vague, but I didn't feel a strong enough sense of being pulled in to be confident that I would be the best advocate for this manuscript.

While I'm sure this is disappointing news, I want to sincerely thank you for the chance to read your work. Whenever you do secure representation with an agent, please know that I will be rooting for you from the sidelines!!

Best,

Jenna

Jenna's rejection to my query was the best rejection that I've ever received--whether from a query or a full. It was kind, positive, and so darn helpful. My opening pages are the weakest part of my current manuscript, but I could never pinpoint why exactly (nor could my beta readers). Jenna's feedback absolutely hit the nail on the head and gave me a real "aha!" moment. I wish there was a way to message agents back through query manager to say thank you. I look forward to querying her again in the future, and good luck to those of you still in the running!

Absolutely lovely rejection that mentioned what she liked about my query package but that the voice didn't click with her - I'd query her again
