In April this year, I submitted a proposal to this agent: the sequel to a scientific book that I had published with Oxford University Press, but this time for a broad audience. Despite many attempts at receiving some kind of feedback on my proposal, the agent did not respond in any way. I am very unimpressed, particularly given that as a science editor, I always took the effort to write to authors whose manuscripts we decided not to put into peer review: my professional duty.
