I also received a vague form rejection on a full she had for over 6 months, two days ago.

Not nearly as upsetting as Kr96howell's experience, but it felt worth mentioning. I also got a form rejection this morning, also on a full request, which had been lingering for ~7 months.

I'd followed up at one point, thinking it just got lost in the pile (understandable), because all other fulls from that time frame received responses.

Perhaps she left agenting? That's happened to me before with agents. If that's the case, though, it would have been helpful — and kind — if the canned response was more transparent.

Hugs to you, Kr96howell.

I've been trying to stay optimistic. I've REALLY tried to give Kaylyn the benefit of the doubt, but as of this morning, I'm beyond angry and hurt.

10/21/2025: queried & received a full request
10/30/2025: Kaylyn messaged me and said she loved the manuscript and wanted to set up a call

She never got back to me, and I'd sent two follow-ups while I waited. I assumed she ghosted me, but as of this morning, 1/15/2026, she sent me a FORM REJECTION. A form. Rejection.

Not only has her communication been unprofessional, but because of her message of wanting to schedule a call and me thinking I'd have an offer, I queried as many agents as I could. She not only got my hopes up just to crush them, but now I'm terrified that I may have ruined my chances of getting my FOURTH manuscript picked up because I prematurely queried agents.

I know ghosting is common in this industry, I know people have had bad experiences with agents, and I know she doesn't owe me anything. But this was down-right cruel, and it's really bothering me that she didn't at least take the time to give a proper apology or explain why she changed her mind. I hope anyone who's considering querying her considers this message first.

Best of luck to you all, and I genuinely hope this doesn't happen to any of you, no matter the agent.

@Patrick, after reading @Kr96howell’s message (and since I also queried Kaylyn), I looked her up on the Metamorphosis website but couldn’t find her listed with background info. Then I looked a little further and did find her on the submission page.

Could you please clarify her current status?
