Sent my query to Red Sofa on Aug 7, and Ruth surprised me with a request for a partial seven days later. Sent the first 50 pages right away. Now a month into the wait, hopeful and grateful — I didn’t expect to get this far, and I’m enjoying the ride.

A bit of an unusual form rejection with resources she finds valuable. She tries to take away any sting for saying no, but those resources make me feel like I’m a kid who didn’t do her homework (reference to.Jane Friedman and the manuscript wish list). I certainly did my homework and also got requests.
Not a fan of this kind of reply even though she probably means well.
