On 4/16/16, I've requeried Peter with Chain Reaction. I've nudged him two weeks ago and now closing it out as CNR. I'll try him this summer with Venom.

I sent a message through the contact page letting them know that some people were reporting their emails were bouncing back.
Just in case they didn't know. I never suggested that they change their email address, since i had no idea that was the issue.
This was the response.

"Hi
The problem is with Apple. It hates dashes in email addresses. Kind of hard to switch email addresses from submission-fiction@intltrans.com to a new email address when only 5% of the world has a problem. But we'll consider it.
Thanks,
Peter

That's odd. My email went through, when I emailed him two weeks ago and send him a nudge.

5/6/16 email bounced
I sent them an email to the general contact form informing them of this issue.

I also got the canned message. It's laughably out-of-date:

Minutes after I submitted, the auto response email said:

I will be away from June 23rd through July 9.
Please know that I am out of e-mail reach for this time and your submission will not be reviewed at this time.
Happy Summer Holiday.
Many thanks for your patience,

Dear Author,

You are receiving an automated response so that we may best strive for excellence, devote time and energy to authors already under contract, and continue in our desire to search out talent best suited to our agency's needs.

We have been receiving an over-abundance of queries each week. As you must appreciate, the list of new material that we can take on is necessarily short. We apologize for this necessity.

If we are intrigued by your submission, please be assured we will email you with our specific conditions and requirements in order that you may present us with material for further evaluation.

Please know that we will continue to read every author's e-mail. If you have not had a response from us after three weeks, please accept that we did not find your project to be a good match for us and that, sadly, we simply did not have the time to respond. . .

to RebeccaL - Thanks for trying; I wish I had read your comment before I wasted my amateur time querying them on August 24. Also, they should take 5 seconds and update their auto reply, too, as it still warns that the gatekeeper was away some time ago:

Many thanks for your patience,

We have been receiving an over-abundance of queries each week. As you must appreciate, the list of new material that we can take on is necessarily short. Therefore, for the time being, we will rarely be reviewing any fiction material from unpublished authors. We apologize for this necessity, but there are only so many hours in the week and we feel we must devote our energies to existing clients and published authors ("published" means published by a commercial trade house or a very successful self-published eBook author).

EQ-2/20

Received automated response, indicating that they probably won't consider my manuscript, due to amateur status. However, this was not disclosed on their website.

She (it was his associate agent) liked the characters and loved the idea. The writing wasn't as 'polished' (her quotes) as she would have liked and she wasn't satisfied with the ending. She said she thought another, bigger agency would probably take me on and help me turn it into a bestseller, but that they were too small to have the time to do that. She also asked me to make sure that when that happens, I don't let them change the characters too much.

Sorry Shaunta. What did they say for the personalized R?

Wow...the woman who emailed me just called to say that she read my query to Peter and they decided to make an exception, and asked me to send my full. Here goes!

Hmmm...

Had a request for the manuscript, but they wanted a signed document stating that it wasn't with any other agents, even on a query basis and that I wouldn't attempt to place it anywhere else for 5 weeks. It's already with several other agents on a query and submission basis. I called and talked to the woman who emailed me and she said they didn't want to see it in that case, under any circumstances, because of the agents who have requested reject it, they don't want to waste their time reading it.

Wow.

So, I guess this goes in the positive category, sort of.

Thanks so much. Waiting to hear back from him.

9/22: 5/24, I've sent Peter Riva a query. Two weeks ago, I've nudged him. No response as of today. 9/23: I've heard from Peter Riva. He passed. He said, if I don't hear from him, they're passing. That's cleared up.
