@mountaingoat i had a ya contemp that she wanted but the category was missing. She told me to pick any ya genre, so I picked fantasy since those typically get rid a tiny bit faster!

@mountaingoat I personally would just select either YA fantasy or YA scifi, whichever is closer to your speculative, and then clarify it in your query letter

Madelyn says she's seeking YA speculative, but it's not included in the genres in the drop down box, and my novel doesn't really fit any of the other YA categories. I'd really love to query her, as her MSWL aligns really well with my story, but I'm not sure what to do here.
