Query: 4/11/26
Rejection: 4/16/26
300pg YA Graphic Novel (Literary Fiction)
This was my first response with non-form, personal feedback; there was clearly ample time spent considering my query and associated materials. If I had to summarize Layla's observations, I'd say it looks like while the work itself has no (immediate) issue, in this case at least it doesn't lend itself to a clear sales/marketing plan. This is both encouraging and very useful to know—I can focus my adjustments on the pitch without worrying if there was a glaring flaw I was missing in my book.
Thank you for taking the time to explain your decision (and give compliments!) Layla, I truly appreciate it.
