Over the course of her dynamic career, she has sold well over seven hundred titles to every major publisher and has built a client list of more than forty authors spanning the commercial fiction genres, primarily in the areas of fantasy, science fiction, horror, women’s fiction, romance, mystery/suspense and young adult.

My list is incredibly full at the moment. Still, I can’t bring myself to stop reading anything with a unique premise, particularly involving concepts that are relevant to the sociopolitical challenges of today and particularly with diverse voices.

Most wanted for me: a novel that keeps me on the edge of my seat with characters I care about deeply. I enjoy fresh perspectives and surprising turns. I don’t want to feel as though I’ve heard it before or can anticipate where the novel is going before it even gets there.

Recent and upcoming titles include THE CITY WE BECAME by N.K. Jemisin, BITTER FALLS by Rachel Caine, WHEN NO ONE IS WATCHING by Alyssa Cole, THE GHOST TREE by Christina Henry, and THE DARK ARCHIVE (Invisible Library #7) by Genevieve Cogman.

It seems that the last few unanswered queries from August are going to stay unanswered. Which feels pretty bad if you're one of them and have watched the timeline these last few months, waiting for an answer, any answer, as everyone else in the group got their closure. I'm pretty inured to the whole agents not answering queries thing at this point, but this feels different. Crappier.

Looks like we're sometimes actually in the maybe pile. Very harrowing watching people fly out of the queue before and after you.

"You’re a very talented writer, and I read [TITLE] with interest. I was very taken with the concept. Unfortunately, I wasn’t as taken with the viewpoint character, who I know changes, but… I just wasn’t quite sufficiently enthusiastic to feel that I’d be the best champion for your work.

"However, ours is a very subjective business, and I’m certain you’ll find a wonderful agent, who will view your work with all the enthusiasm you deserve. You might try the following agents, though this is certainly not an exhaustive list. (If they’re currently closed to queries, they may reopen after the holidays.) [...]"
