I felt moved by this, like it wasn't robotic at all and spent the time. But I could be wrong if someone else has this exact template and I missed it while scrolling below. I wish it was a partial and then R&R instead then!

I was immediately pulled in by your main character and her tough situation, but as interested as I am to see a story through her eyes, I worry that there's not enough here to keep young readers turning the pages. I think for a story like this, about real issues, there still needs to be some promise of fun or adventure as an "in" for young readers deciding what to read (or whether to read at all). Ultimately, I don't quite have a vision for placing this project, but I appreciate the chance to take a look, and I hope you find the perfect home for your work soon.

I know it is bad for the soul to stay down on yourself. I expect a rejection for everyone at this point. That is fine. I have to walk this line if I want to be published traditionally. I know my book is not for everyone. I accept that with an open heart. Those that it does speak to will love it. Just as I have loved writing it. I don't expect a long explanation as to why my first page or two didn't catch them. I wrote an epic, not a short story. I created a world not just a page. Just like so many other authors out here have done. My Agent is out there. I don't know if it will be Mr. Cusick. If it is then great, if not I will just have to wait for the next chapter in my query saga to unfold. Turn those pages people. Hope is just another chapter away.
