Why would anyone query this agency? The last request from anyone at this agency was 18 months ago. Their clients produce books, but they seem to be a referral only agency. The claim to not respond, but their response rate is IGNORE.

Disclaimer
Always verify agent's information before sending your query, and review the agent's website(s) for more up-to-date information.
Though we do our best, QueryTracker can not guarantee the accuracy of any information provided.
An agent listing on QueryTracker is not an endorsement or recommendation of that agent by QueryTracker.
Before contacting an agent, authors should verify and assess the agent's requirements and suitability by visiting the agent's website(s), and becoming familiar with ways to spot and avoid bad agents. A good place to start is Writers Beware, a watch group that helps inform and protect authors from shady practices.
If you get a paid Publisher's Marketplace account, you can see how many publishing deals are attributed to a particular agent or publisher. The Cheney Agency's profile shows deals at a fairly regular rate, 16 in the last 12 months and 150+ deals since 2017, some with six-figure+ deals. You'll find that track record outpaces plenty of other agencies on QueryTracker. That's certainly not the only criterion a writer should use to decide who to query! But it's enticing, and based on more reliable information than an *email-only* agency's QT stats. (Though worth noting their deals are rarely listed as debuts, suggesting a new author likely has a high bar to clear. That may also influence QT stats.)
QT is a fantastic tool that's been widely adopted and I love it. But it's worth doing research on agents you might be interested elsewhere, too.
