Sent a full manuscript after her request from a Manuscript Academy session. I knew at the time it was likely to be a ghosting situation. Half a year later, no response. I'm not interested in nudging, but wanted to post for the information of other authors.

She requested my full 24 hours after I queried her. She ghosted me. Six months in, I nudged with a revised manuscript. Still nothing, and it's been over a year and a half. I've long since given up, I just wanted to make sure as many people as possible know that she's a ghoster. I see from other comments she's done the same to others. Don't get too excited over a full request from this agent.

Booked two Manuscript Academy 15-minute sessions with her in 2020, she was absolutely lovely and enthusiastic and requested me to send my full in November 2020 over the Thanksgiving holidays.
FR: 11/28/20
Rehauled manuscript with mentor, asked her if she'd like to see the revised full, and in 1 hour, she responded "Yes please."
Revised FR: 6/1/21
Nudged with offer of rep: 9/13/21
Never responded

Form after over a year... I don't get why you'd send a *rejection* after that long.

Just wanted to note I just got a (nice) response back from her... for a query I submitted 2.5 years ago. Not sure what to make of that.

mhknecht12 replied "they're not hiring us. they're working with us as business partners. and no one in this industry is calling it out as bad because MOST people in the industry support measures like these. if you don't, I'd suggest you look somewhere else."
I understand they are not hiring us, or I would have already filed a complaint with the EEOC. In fact, we are creating an agency relationship, not a business partnership. I am simply shocked that anyone would ever announce that they are only considering a business partner based on race. I certainly would never seek an agent or business partner based on his/her race.
How do you know that most people in the industry support race-based discrimination?
And I don't understand what you mean by suggesting I look elsewhere? Why?

How is this even legal?
"Submissions
From 9/1/20 – 12/31/20 I’m open to queries from BIPOC writers and illustrators only – I’m looking forward to reading your work. I only accept queries through this link"
What if I would only hire BIPOC waiters or cooks in my restaurant? How does this not violate the EEOC?
I assume because we are not employees, but developing a contractual agreement, BUT would this be legal if I were hiring someone to advertise the restaurant? To POST that I am selecting based on RACE?
And why isn't anyone calling out the industry for this behavior?

ER 11-19 YA contemporary
Nice and quick, like ripping off a band aid. This was a long shot because she's only accepting a special genre but I thought I'd try anyway.

@alexandraabitbol - looks a bit hit or miss with responses lately, where usually she is pretty on the ball but may have fallen behind over the summer. I generally expect a response from ANYONE who uses QueryManager.
