For the love of GOD don't try to send your QUERY to more then one of them if another rejects you, it is completely impossible that another may like your work where one didn't. These folks aren't worth your time trust me.

Crime thriller, 74K words

Queried: 7/14/24

Personalized rejection: 7/15/24

"Dear Joe,

Thanks so much for the look at your materials.

Unfortunately, the premise doesn't appeal to me, and I wasn't drawn in to the sample pages as I'd need to be to feel differently."

The last paragraph mirrors the rejections below, but a personalized sentence or two in less than 24 hours qualifies as a small victory. I'll definitely query Sharon again with my next manuscript.

upmarket fiction with speculative elements, rejected after less than 1 day.

Their website says "Don’t submit to more than one of us at once, whether in the same query or separate queries, or requery another agent here after getting a pass. We share queries with each other frequently, so a no from one is a no from all."

But Pelletier's rejection, below, came in one day and it was worded in the first person, so it doesn't seem possible that she shared it with anyone, or even that she considered doing so... confusing! And because of their policy I didn't actually spend as much time choosing the best agent for me at this agency, as I usually do.

"Thanks so much for the look at your materials.

Unfortunately, the premise doesn't appeal to me, and I wasn't drawn in to the sample pages as I'd need to be to feel differently.

As I'm sure you'll understand, the volume of submissions I receive makes it impossible to correspond with everyone further. I wish you the best of luck in finding an agent and publisher for your work, and I thank you, once again, for the opportunity to consider it.

Sincerely,

Sharon Pelletier"

rejected after a day with the weirdest rejection:
I only submitted to them once, and if I did I got no fucking response from these talentless- hacks. I submitted under Genre: Fiction, Speculative because guess what light sci-fi falls under. #justsaying

Dear X,

Thanks for your interest in working with me, but I am not open to this category, and I see that my colleagues have already reviewed on behalf of this agency.

I wish you the best of luck in finding an agent and publisher for your work.

Sincerely,

Sharon Pelletier
