I submitted to Mr. Chase (seeing his response rate and time) in hopes that I'd get some sort of acknowledgement that I existed. Rejections are fine, just knowing I'm a live person and not submitting queries off into the Twilight Zone is a win at this point.

I was not disappointed.

"Many thanks for reaching out. You have an interesting story to tell and there’s a lot to like about your approach. But, in the end, I’m afraid I didn’t come away fully convinced this was something I could represent successfully for you. I’m sorry not to be more enthusiastic, and best of luck in placing it elsewhere."

I was thankful for a quick reply, even though it was a rejection.

He says he is seeking fantasy, but his publisher's marketplace page lists exactly zero fantasy sales, although the narrative non-fiction, memoir and sports sections are robust.
