Q late February 2026
Didn't receive a response for a while and I assumed it was a no-go.
I then received the email below which is still a rejection but it actually boosted my spirits as it felt personal even if this is how they usually respond (I don't know of course!). Anyways! Onward. Forward.
"Thank you for sending your work to Camilla Bolton at Darley Anderson & Associates and thank you for your patience while we read your work. We are so sorry it has taken so long for us to get back to you. We had your submission flagged for a while, as it really impressed us, so we wanted to give it the attention it deserved.
Camilla and I have now both considered your submission and while we enjoyed it, unfortunately we have to pass on this occasion.
We can only take on a select number of new writers every year. The result is that we have to be incredibly selective. And on this occasion, your work just wasn’t quite right for Camilla’s list. Please do not be too disheartened, as another agent may well feel differently.
We wish you the very best of luck."

Same as the comment below, this rejection made me feel a bit more hopeful and better about my book and querying process in general. Such a shame though as I really wanted this agent to represent me and felt like my book would be a good fit. Hopefully next time :)
