He replied and requested the full proposal the same day.
He asked for a call a day or two later.
I called him on the day/time he suggested. He took the call while driving, and his first words after "Hello" were, "Who is this again?" Not a great start, considering he's the one who set up the meeting.
He proceeded to try to convince me to pay him $5,000 as an advance for his help submitting the proposal to publishers. Then he said that for $3k/month he could help me build my social media platform.
I politely thanked him for his time without committing, then tried to wash the slime off of me.
He followed up about a week later and said he was really excited to help me, then he misquoted the title of my book.
Seriously?
I thanked him for his interest and politely told him I wasn't interested in paying for help right now.
Of course there was no response.
He seems to be more interested in preying on desperate writers than actually repping good projects and securing publishing deals.

*** The emailing an author and asking them who the author thought was the audience is a massively UNPROFESSIONAL. He thinks there is no market, and instead of declining it, wants the AUTHOR to tell him anything so he can decline it.
