Thank you for letting us review the material for xxx, which we read with great interest.

Unfortunately, we have determined that we are not the appropriate agents to represent this material. In this very competitive market, we are simply not enthusiastic enough about our ability to sell this work to offer representation.

We wish you the best of luck placing this successfully. Thank you, once again, for letting us consider it.

The rejection stung, but I’m encouraged by her recognition of potential in my writing, especially since this is my debut novel.
"Thank you so much for reaching out and sending along the manuscript for ****, which we read with great interest. The high tension between the characters kept the narrative particularly compelling, distinguishing the story from others like it in the reality TV romance space. After careful consideration, however, we have decided that we are not the appropriate agents for this project.

Fiction, as I am sure you know, is very subjective and one of the toughest things to sell in today’s market, so we must be selective in what we take on. Though your writing is excellent, we really must fall in love with a novel to properly represent it, and I’m sorry to say that just didn’t happen here. Thank you again for the chance to review this material and I wish you all the best. "
