Why is he not listed anymore on the official Donald Maass Agency? He's one of the few agents I've seen who specifically request humorous SFF.

4/15/21 - LGBTNPit like
4/24/21 - request for 50 pages with first submission.
8/3/21 - agent withdrew interest as it 'isn't a good time to take on a new client.' also mentioned the QM file attachment would not open, but file was fine prior to attaching. Shrug. Keep on keepin' on.

EQ 7/7/19.
PR 7/24/19 and I sent the same day

Read an update on his agent profile that he has been closed to queries since Dec 2019, and as of Sept 2020, he is going through partial and full MS requests. Still no update on my querytracker but keeping fingers crossed.

Adult high fantasy that was 100k at the time, now 113k.

I sent polite prods ("is the delay b/c I did anything wrong with the submission/file?") at the 6 and 9 month mark, never got a response. I sent another prod at 12mo, but unless I hear back, it's CNR. I need an agent who can get back to me in less than a year.

I'm seeing some sub responses now. Yay!

Queried him back in August of 2019. Closed the query a while ago, figuring I wasn't getting a response. Got a form rejection today, apologizing for the lateness.

I'm a bit surprised he reached out at all, even if it was just to declutter his QM, but it's still nice that he did so.

IDK I thought the point of QM was to keep agents' inboxes less crowded. *shrugs*

Anyway, from what I can tell from the timeline, his last sub response was at the end of August.

Still, hard to give up hope. I still check every week to see if there's been any activity reported.

Hathor,

I mean, the point of QM is to be able to reply to everything so...? Things have been busy and stressful for everyone so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I sent a PR on the same day as you, Earth2Andy. I nudged a while back but didn't hear anything.

Looking at the QT submissions responses, I don't see any for a long time.

Yeah, I'm on day 300, myself. Haven't nudged yet though.

Sent the project in November 2019, got no response as of May 2020. Did a substantial revision since then and decided to withdraw my query and try another agent at the same agency (as they have the policy not to query more than one agent at the same time).

This agent had my full ms for 342 days. I sent a query to determine if it was still under consideration and got no response. I was forced to call this a CNR.

UPDATE:

EQ 8/29/2019 Querytracker submission
ER 5/25/2020 - Received a polite email rejection. He apologized for the length of time it took. Always appreciate a response.
SF 74K

He tweeted yesterday that he is closing to queries on December 15th to catch up on submissions. He stated he has a very large backlog of partials and fulls and he would like to respond to those writers.

I submitted a query on September 10 and have not heard back yet. Does anyone know how long Mr. Stevens normally takes to respond?
