my journey is a bit unique--

originally queried 3/14, got a form rejection 3/22

queried again 7/1 after receiving a "like" for #queerpit on twitter

12/17 response seemed a bit more personalized this time, but still vague. after waiting almost 6 months on the 2nd go round, I would have liked more specific feedback but I appreciated how kind Amy was.

"My sincere apologies for the delay in getting back to you - thanks so much as I considered your pages for [book title] from #QueerPit.

This is such a good premise and setting, but I'm afraid I just didn't quite spark to the writing on a line level in the way that I need - this is such a subjective thing, and I'm sure another agent will feel quite differently! I'm sorry to disappoint after so much time, but I deeply appreciated the chance to consider and wish you the best of luck finding the right home for [book title]."

Nice personalized rejection letter, though it did take over 4 months.
