Thanks so much for considering me with your manuscript for xxx. Unfortunately, this is a pass for me. While there's nothing "wrong" with your manuscript, my client list has grown exponentially in recent months which requires me to be especially discerning with the projects I take on. At present, the project not only needs to be an exact fit for what I'm looking for, but it also needs to crawl under my skin and require me to sit down and read every word in one sitting. And if I'm honest, that's a really high bar to meet and not one I expect will always be the case for me. At least I hope it's not as I know in my soul that I'll be passing on some really spectacular projects that, under different circumstances, I'd have a completely different response.
