This agent usually requests within a few days and if not it's basically a rejection. That's why people CNR really quickly for her in particular.

@catherineelcik - I only speak from my experience, but I will mark something as CNR if the agent's website says they will only respond if interested, on top of "we will respond in 4 weeks" and it's been 6 or 7 and I haven't heard anything. I don't think a CNR takes it out of the agent's cue because I've marked a few as CNR and got an official rejection after that point. A formal withdrawal will take it out of their cue (I'm pretty sure) and the numbers change on my Dashboard. My total queries number reduces every time I officially withdraw a query. If someone submits after me and gets a positive response and I'm still waiting, I don't take that into consideration. That person may have a referral, or their project is a better fit. There may be some reason why their query got a faster response than mine. This entire process is not an exact science. . . and can be very frustrating. Hope that helps.

Can someone please explain why there are so many fast CNR responses. This agent has a lot of them, but so many folks on so many other agents are doing the same thing. Why are writer's giving up on queries so fast? And if you CNR does that remove the query from the agent's cue? Or do you also formally withdraw? Is it just that this particular agent is lightning quick to ask for materials so if you don't get a response and see there's someone after you who did you feel like the writing is on the...timeline?
